About Us
Himalaya Inter College (HIC) was founded in 1999 by Mr. Chandra Singh Karki with Principal Devbala Bisht and Mr. Bhupendra Papola. They began teaching two children in a donated cowshed in Chaukori to bring quality primary education to remote Himalayan villages. Today HIC educates 930+students from Nursery to ClassXII, serving 50+ villages in Pithoragarh district. The school is run by Himalaya Sikshya Nidhi Samiti, a registered non-profit society. The mission is to ensure children from low-income families can access advanced education without migrating away from their communities.
